To obtain the best rates for international and domestic air travel, it is essential to book airfares as soon as possible. See www.airnz.co.nz, www.qantas.co.nz or www.virginblue.co.nz . Please arrange your own transport from the airport.
A typical taxi trip from the airport to central Wellington is $50 one way.
Winter is normally the most unsettled time of the year. Typical winter daytime maximum air temperatures range from 10°C to 14°C. Frost occurs inland during clear calm conditions in winter. Due to Wellington's exposure to weather systems from the Tasman Sea, it can get windy.
